Ply-Split Braiding

Ply-Split Braiding is a fiber technique found in northwest India where it is used to make camel girths and animal regalia.   The technique uses cords split and braided to make complex designs.  Mats, belts, necklaces, vessels, and sculptural pieces are examples of the use of this versatile fiber art.  Click on the photo below for more examples of ply-split projects. Ply-split members meet monthly on the first Thursday at 6:30pm at the guild house.

Classes are available in the fall.  For more information, Contact Deb at craftguildic@gmail.com.
